Kel-Tec announced three new accessories for the RFB rifle. Â The accessories are a short quad-rail, a front sight riser, a tactical operating handle and a muzzle brake. Â The Kel-Tec RFB (Rifle, Forward-ejecting Bullpup) is a .308/7.62 NATO rifle available in target and carbine models.
RFB Short Quad Rail
Quad-rails are exceptionally popular on the AR15 platform guns, so it is not a great leap to think that rails for the RFB might be popular as well. Â The quad rail for the RFB is a short system, measuring about three inches in length. Â The rails run from the rear of the flash hider to just forward of the gas system adjustment.
The rails will accept any 1913/Picatinny mount accessories and is made from “…hard coat anodized 6061-T6 aluminum.”
MSRP will be about $45 and should be available for order next week on the Kel-Tec website.
RFB Riser
This riser is designed to be used with the normal RFB rail or with the new quad rail. Â When used to mount a sight on the quad rail, it increases the sight radius by about five inches.
Due out next week, the spacer is expected to sell for $20, or for $60 as a kit that includes the above quad rail.
RFB Tactical Operating Handle
The Kel-Tec RFB “Tactical Operating Handle” is twice as long, and 20% wider than the original operating handle. Â The idea is to allow for sure operation in a high-stress situation. Â The price is $25.00 on Kel-Tec’s site.
RFB Muzzle Brake
The Kel-Tec muzzle brake for the RFB rifle replaces the flash hider that ships standard on the gun. Â Kel-Tec claims the tripple baffle brake reduces recoil and muzzle rise by 50%. Â The muzzle brake is made from 4140 steel and has a parkerized finish. Â The muzzle brake kit comes with the brake plus a lock nut.
Kel-Tec advises that the original flash hider may be very difficult to remove and the use of a vise and a heat gun or torch may be needed. Â Fortunately, Kel-Tec can install the RFB muzzle brake for you if you so desire.
The RFB muzzle brake sells for $48.50 on the Kel-Tec site. Â To have Kel-Tec install the brake for you, the total cost for the parts, labor and return shipping is $85.00.
