Update
As of 2014, both of these pistols are listed in the company’s online catalog. Rock Island Armory (RIA) has a good reputation for building low-cost 1911 pistols. Considering that many 1911-type 10mm pistols are very expensive, it is good to see that RIA is still in this niche. Customers need options when it comes to buying handguns, and that is exactly what these guns offer.
If you like these pistols, but not the 10mm cartridge, RIA also offers the guns in 9mm, .40 S&W and .45 ACP. It does not look like they offer the guns in the traditional .45 alternative: the .38 Super.
If you are looking for a match version of a 10mm 1911 platform gun, RIA also makes that. It is called the Pro Match 1911 and has a 6″ barrel standard.
One reply on “Rock Island Armory 10mm Pistols”
ok, I have ordered an RIA 10mm, 5 in barrel but it is a double stack. anyone have any ideas on a decent holster for it? I prefer Blackhawk Serpas but, they dont make one for this beast. I also like Safari land but again, no dice. So it looks like it might be a leather holster and if so I want one with a thumb break. I do believe in weapon retention! thank you, I await your replies!
