ActionSportGames (ASG) showed their CZ Scorpion EVO 3 A1 airsoft gun prototype at the 2012 SHOT Show last week.
Developed from the original CZ plans, the airsoft version of the Scorpion EVO 3 will sport a number of features including select fire (semi-auto, full-auto and three-round burst), a realistic bolt action and the ability to modify the gun for left handed shooters.
According to one of the ASG reps, the Scorpion incorporates a new technology into the gun for greater realism. Â The Scorpion is an electric gun, and with other ASG electric guns, when the magazine runs dry, the gun will continue to fire albeit without any projectiles. Â In the Scorpion, a sensor will let the gun know when the mag runs dry and no “dry” firing will happen.
The gun is still in development, but is expected to ship in about a year. Â No MSRP is set. Â Airsoft products are not a typical topic of conversation here at GunsHolstersAndGear.com. Â However, the more advanced airsoft guns are really good training tools for force-on-force learning. Â Some guns, such as this CZ EVO 3 A1, may be the only way that some of us can own “one.”
One of the guns I would love to own, but cannot afford to, is the CZ Skorpion Vz61 SMG. Â An airsoft version of this submachine gun is, on the other hand, affordable and useable in my own back yard.
Action Sport Games looks to have a definite winner with this airsoft version of the gun. Â I don’t know how much they will cost when they hit the market (probably more than $100,) but it will likely be a solid investment in fun.
