The Gun Digest Book of Ruger Revolvers

I’ve just pre-ordered a new history book for my gun bookshelf: The Gun Digest Book of Ruger Revolvers.

I saw a press release on this book earlier in the week, and just took a look at it on Amazon. Amazon has a great feature that allows you to review parts of the book prior to purchase to see what the writing and photography is like. After being disappointed with the Standard Catalog of Remington Firearms (read my review here), I was wary about investing in another “authoritative” text on guns. But, this new Ruger book looks to be very good.

New Ruger Guns for 2014

Ruger announced a number of new gun models including a new DA/SA version of the LCR called the LCRx. One deviation from prior Ruger product announcements is that some of the guns are not ready to ship immediately. In the past, when Ruger announced a new firearm, the gun was already in production. Some of these new guns, however, come with an expected ship date.

The New Witness Pavona Pistols: Updated Information

EAA is now selling a line of pistols designed for women shooters. Unlike some companies that simply paint a gun pink and deem it a “woman’s model,” the new Tanfoglio Witness Pavona guns are seemingly more than just flash. Tanfoglio enhanced aspects of the gun’s operation to make it easier to operate, especially for people who may lack upper body strength.

The Advanced Police Carbine: B&T APC 300

B&T AG is getting ready to start production of the new APC 300. The APC, or Advanced Police Carbine, will be chambered in .300 Whisper, and is designed from the ground up for the cartridge. The gun is full-auto capable and is intended for use with a sound suppressor. The APC 300 fires from a closed bolt.

B&T states the gun is adaptable to right- and left-handed shooters, and comes with an ambidextrous charging handle, magazine release, bolt release and selector switch.

The New FN MINIMI Mk 3 Light Machine Gun

FN Herstal rolled out the latest update to the company’s light machine gun line, the MINIMI Mk 3. The company stated the new Mk3 was designed around the feedback received from actual combat troops using the gun in the field. Essentially, all updates are focused on improved ergonomics and improved mobility.
