Comprehensive Beretta APX Holster List

If you are looking for a Beretta APX holster, you’ve come to the right place. We are assembling a comprehensive list of every carry rig available for this striker-fired pistol.

Recently announced by Beretta, the new APX pistol looks to be a real contender for the holsters of US law enforcement officers and militaries around the world. Although it was just announced, there are several rigs that should already work with this new gun. As time goes on, new custom leather and Kydex holsters will become available.

So, without further ado, here is the GunsHolstersAndGear list of Beretta APX holsters. Full disclosure: some links on this page and others on this site are affiliate links. Should you choose to use one of these, we earn a small amount of money without increasing your purchase price.

Alien Gear Holsters

Alien Gear Holsters offers a full range of concealed carry holsters for the Beretta APX pistol. Here are the top APX holsters Alien Gear currently offers.

Cloak Tuck 3.5 IWB Holster – This is a hybrid-style holster similar to the Crossbreed Holsters listed below. It uses a hard Boltaron shell with a CoolVent neoprene backer. This offers a number of great features when compared to other holsters for Beretta APX pistols.

To start with, the backer, which rides flush against the skin, uses a combination of materials including neoprene. The design allows it to be breathable while adding padding to minimize hard angles pushing into your flesh.

Additionally, the backer is wide. This allows Alien Gear to increase the distance between the belt clips. When carrying a full size pistol like the APX, this helps to distribute the weight over a larger area to increase comfort and ensure the gun is secure.

Of all the Beretta IWB holsters, I like this one for its premium feel, comfort and reasonable pricing. Additionally, the rig is Made in the USA. They are backed by a five year warranty. Check them out here.

Cloak Belt Holster – Prefer an outside-the-waistband holster for APX carry? Alien Gear offers the Cloak Belt holster. This concealment rig uses the same materials that the Cloak Tuck does: Boltaron and neoprene predominantly.

Instead of tuckable clips, this concealment holster has rigid belt loops (for 1.5″ belts) As with the Tuck, this OWB holster uses spring steel to reinforce the rig. It is an open top design, so it may not be the best choice for open carry in populated areas. On the shooting range or around the home, it would be fine. Take a look at it here.

Cloak OWB Paddle Holster – The Cloak OWB Paddle holster is a more traditional concealed carry holster in that it does not use a neoprene backer. Instead, it uses mostly Boltaron in the construction.

Boltaron, if you are not familiar, is a rigid polymer that is similar to Kydex. Unlike Kydex, it has a much higher melt point meaning that it won’t lose its shape if you leave it in a hot car and direct sunlight. The concerns about Kydex melting are largely overblown, but in certain climates it may be a problem for a small number of people.

Alien Gear also uses an embedded piece of spring steel to further increase the durability of the rig. If you are looking for a paddle holster for the APX, check it out here

Cloak Chest Holster – Chest holsters for the Beretta APX are fairly uncommon. So it is nice to see a good quality one being made by Alien Gear to support the handgun line. It uses the same general construction styles as other CCW holsters in the company’s catalog: Boltaron and neoprene being the primary components.

A lot of people like chest holsters for outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing. However, some people use these rigs as over the road truckers making long hauls. It’s a lot more comfortable than running an IWB holster. Check out the Cloak Chest here

Beretta

Beretta not only manufactures the APX pistols, but it also sells its own branded holsters for the gun. Let’s take a look at some of the rigs.

3-Slot Pancake Holster – Finished in a dark tan or brown, this leather holster is very stylish. It uses a traditional three slot design typical to belt slide and pancake rigs.

The leather is nicely molded with heavy duty stitching for a long life. Also, the holster incorporates a thumb snap to ensure the gun is securely held when carried.

While a great choice for concealed carry, the rig is also a good choice for open carry in friendly environments like a BBQ or at the shooting range. Get the leather belt holster here.

Flat Profile Leather OWB Holster – With a duty holster style draw, the Flat Profile leather OWB rig uses a thumb break system to secure the Beretta APX when carried.

The leather holster has belt slots on the rear for a solid anchor to your gunbelt. Likewise, the belt slots help keep the gun tight to the body when carried. The rig has the Beretta logo embossed on it as a nice detail. See the holster here.

Blackhawk

Blackhawk makes a number of holsters for the APX. Many are universal style, but don’t let that drive you away as some are surprisingly good.

Since this gun is designed for police and military service, it only makes sense that Blackhawk makes three of drop leg holsters that will fit. The first is the Universal Drop Leg holster. The second is the Omega IV Ultra Universal holster. The final is the Special Operations holster

All of these rigs attach to a standard rigging or nylon duty belt and then to the upper thigh of the officer or soldier. Are any of these the best holster for the Beretta APX? In my opinion, no. However, they might be the best choices for a drop leg holster for the APX. If that’s what you need, these are worth a look.

Concealment Express

Concealment Express offers good quality Kydex concealment holsters for the APX pistols. The company’s carry rigs offer a good balance of price and performance.

IWB Holster – Made in the U.S.A., the Concealment Express IWB holster uses .08″ thick Kydex for a durable carry option. The molding is good so that when you properly seat the pistol, you will hear and feel a “click” indicating the gun is secure.

This IWB rig has an adjustable angle, or cant, that is adjustable from -5? to +20? so you can get the right fit for you. It is designed with a sweat guard and is cut for an optic.

Condor

Condor makes a nylon rig that mounts onto a plate carrier, vest or other gear using MOLLE or PALS webbing. The Tactical VT holster is designed to wrap around the pistol and will work with guns that have a light mounted. It is oriented vertically, but may work at an angle.

CYA Supply Co.

This veteran-owned company makes good quality Beretta APX holsters and offers them through Amazon. They are made in the United States, which is an important feature for many.

CYA Inside-the-Waistband – The CYA Supply IWB holster is molded specifically for the APX and uses a Posi Click system to ensure the gun is properly seated when carried. You will hear and feel a confirming click when inserting the pistol into the holster.

A simple, yet functional belt clip holds the holster in place on your gunbelt. It is adjustable for a neutral (straight up) draw or a 15? butt forward tilt. A full-length sweatguard protects the gun from salt while also keeping sharp edges off of your skin.

CYA Supply uses Boltaron, a Kydex-like polymer, in the construction of its holsters. Boltaron has a higher temperature resistance, which makes them less prone to losing a precise fit in extreme heat. If you might leave a holster in your car during the summertime, Boltaron may be the superior choice when compared to Kydex.

Check out the rig here.

Ridge IWB Holster – Beyond a basic IWB rig, the Ridge IWB holster incorporates a number of additional features including the ModWing. When worn, the ModWing applies pressure to the inside of your gunbelt to tuck your pistol in tight to your body. This can greatly aid with concealment.

Instead of a standard belt clip, CYA Supply uses a Discreet Carry Concepts Monoblock clip to mount the rig to a gunbelt that is up to 1.5″ wide. The DCC Monoblock splits the clip down the middle to increase flexibility during normal movement when carried. The clip is also removeable and can be replaced with traditional belt loops.

The holster is a little more expensive than the company’s standard IWB rig, but I think it is worth the extra money. See it here.

Uncle Mike’s

An adjustable MOLLE holster is available for the APX from Uncle Mike’s. This holster is available in black only and will work with both right- and left-handed shooters. It is fully adjustable, which allows it to work with pistol mounted lights. Also, the holster can be worn on a duty belt.

UTG

UTG makes a wide range of inexpensive shooting products and offers a pair of holsters for this pistol. The first is an inexpensive shoulder holster. The rig has padded shoulders for ease of carrying during a long day. Also it has two spare magazine pouches in addition to the holster. The rig is available in four colors: black, OD green, Army digital camo and woodland digital camo.

UTG also makes a universal leg holster. These rigs are available in a variety of colors including black and digital woodland camo.

About the Beretta APX

The Beretta APX is a striker-fired pistol designed by the company for military and police work. In its initial offering, it will be a full size handgun and come in one of three calibers: 9mm, .40 S&W and 9×21. The gun was officially introduced at the International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX) in February of 2015.

Beretta APX

Future guns based on this design may be developed in other calibers and frame sizes.

This handgun offers interchangeable backstraps to fit a wild variety of hand sizes. Additionally, it has a Picatinny-type accessory rail for the addition of lights, lasers and other shooting gear. Much like the Glock and Smith & Wesson M&P, the gun is simple in design and rugged.

Beretta is not the only company to introduce a new polymer frame handgun for military use in the past year. Heckler & Koch released the VP9 pistol about nine months before. That gun has proved to be wildly popular, and I suspect the APX will be equally well received.

There are TONS of great holsters on this list made specifically for the APX, including Alienwear, Safariland, and others. $30 will get a decent hybrid IWB and a Beretta brand OWB that is designed well is only $50. I am guessing this article is one of the best available. It certainly is comprehensive. It could be a list for any full-size firearm as none of these seem specific to the APX. There was even a rebate deal recently where every APX came with 3 additional mags and a good OWB holster made by Beretta. I guess universal holsters are not terrible, but why go universal if there are nice custom holsters out there for a out the same money? In the end, your holster SHOULD be an expensive piece of kit… at least $50 in most cases. A high quality holster can be the difference between life and death, as money buys quality. If you want to avoid accidental discharges, weapon loss in a fight due to poor retention, gunk getting into the trigger well or barrel, excess printing, etc… spend a decent amount of money on a holster MADE for your firearm abd avoid universals if possible.

Think about it. Cheap holsters are cheap for a reason. Take, for example, the “quick and dirty.” For the money, it works well enough. It is not bulky, well made (there isn’t much to it to go wrong), and has the lowest print possible… But it offers ZERO moisture protection to the firearm nor cushions the firearm against your body. Enjoy the skin stamp of at least the dovetail and hammer. Depending on your girth, you will likely have an imprint of the entire firearm (sans trigger area) in red on your skin after a day of carrying it around like this. Never mind the fact that this means drawing the firearm might be really tough since your body will literally be in contact with the gun, and never mind that you will certainly have the barrel pointed into your flesh as you draw the firearm at some point… You will have to gouge your thumb into your side to get it around the firearm to draw it, so enjoy the flesh under your thmb nail and the probable bleeding gash in your side if you have to draw in a hurry. Hope that stinging cut doesn’t distract you as you deploy our gun.

OR you could just spend at least $50 on a holster MADE for your gun and not have ANY of these problems.

Just saying. As a guy who has bought many crap holsters trying to save a buck, I can certainly say that if I had just bought a single $90 Safariland in the first place, I would have never needed the other ones (which all add up to that cost anyway). Even a basic $30 Alienwear is better than most universals, offering superior retention and protection.

I’m looking for a light bearing duty holster for the APX 9mm. Not looking for nylon or anything featured on the above pages. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance

Hi Keith,

I apologize for not having this page up to date. There is only one holster I would recommend for your needs: the Safariland Model 6362 ALS. It is a high ride (drops are available to make it a mid- or low-ride I believe) Level III duty holster that is made for the 9mm APX. I’m not sure which light you are running, but I know it will work with a number of them including the SureFire X300. You can see the manufacturer’s page here. I’m guessing you can find the holster at some place like LA Police Gear or Galls for a little cheaper. I hope this helps!

Even though the APX has been out for over a year, many holster manufacturers do not list it in their drop-down menus for ordering (i.e. Versacarry). What more popular gun is closest in size to the APX so that I can place an order for that holster and still be confident that it will fit my APX?

Bought a ALIEN GEAR holster for my full size APX, COULD’NT ASK FOR A BETTER SET UP!
Model Beretta APX Cloak Mod. OWB (Outside Waist Band)
SKU CM-0875-RH-RIGIT-1 1/2 INCH
Right Hand was great but changed over to Cross Draw (left side) Tilts just fine for easy grab.
$47.88 WITH ALL HARD WEAR FOR ADJUSTNENTS
Take a look at ALIEN GEAR.

I am getting the APX Centurion. Will the alien gear cloak tuck IWB fit as this is the midsize model?

Dara Holsters make a variety of holsters, IWB, OWB, AIWB and Competition, with and without lights. I personally like the OWB “action sport holster” as it can convert to a “drop off-set” competition for a low cost.

Has anyone had the issue of the magazine release being depressed while holstered?
I am right handed, I am using the Crosbreed supertuck. I adjusted the cant and adjust carry position still having issues.
Anyone else???

I had a crossbreed for a ruger that did the same thing. A frient recommended AlienGear Holsters and I’ve never looked back.
