Rock River Arms X-1 Rifle

Rock River Arms (RRA) introduced their new X-1 Series rifles at SHOT Show. Rock River Arms has continued to expand on a successful line of AR platform rifles, after winning a Federal contract to supply rifles to the DEA and several other Federal law enforcement agencies. Since that time Rock River has become a popular choice with hundreds of other law enforcement agencies, as well as civilian shooters.

Part of that success can be attributed to standard features on their rifles, such as the Rock River Arms 2-stage trigger, and other advanced features. The X-1 Series rifles will follow on that trend and add a few features as well.

WMD Guns of Stuart, Florida is now offering The Beast to the AR-15 market. Known for their Nickel Boron coated parts and accessories, The Beast will be chambered in 5.56mm/.223. The Nickel Boron (NiB-X) coating on nearly every major component should catch the shooter’s eye. The barrel is coated in Nickel Boron, which WMD claims assist the rifle in heat dissipation.

New Stag Arms Model 3T

Stag Arms introduced their new Model 3T and Model 3T-M at the 2014 SHOT Show.  This is a rifle length direct impingement AR-15 chambered in 5.56 NATO.  As with all Stag models the Model 3T and Model 3T-M will be available in both right-handed and left-handed versions.

What sets the 3T apart from the other lines of Stag AR-15s is a rifle length Diamond Head VRS-T free float hand guard and the rifle length gas system. The Diamond Head VRS-T is a really low profile and lightweight hand guard that has an incredibly good feel and fit. The VRS-T has grooves on the bottom that are shaped to fit your fingers, a flat Picatinny rail the entire length, and modular attachment points along both sides.

New Desert Tech MDR Rifle

Desert Tech, formerly Desert Tactical Arms, announced a new rifle: the Micro Dynamic Rifle (MDR). The Desert Tech MDR is a compact rifle in a bullpup-configuration. With a 16.5″ barrel, the overall length of the gun is only 26″. This makes it an 1/8″ shorter than the IWI TAVOR that was introduced to the US market last year.

The rifle will be available in five different calibers, and will be able to quickly convert between them without the need of tools. I would expect that 5.56 NATO and .300 BLK will be two of the calibers available.

The MDR uses ambidextrous controls and has a forward ejection system. This makes the rifle very easy to shoot and use from either shoulder.
