Weatherby will be bringing out a number of new guns in 2014. Â We’ve got a sneak peak into two of the new shotguns today.
The SA-459 is a semi-automatic shotgun designed for home defense or tactical purposes. Â The guns are made in Turkey, which has become a respectable off-shore location for quality shotguns. Â The SA-459 TR has a rubberized pistol grip, a machined receiver and an 18 1/2″ chrome lined barrel with a ported choke tube.
SIG Sauer is now showing two new M400 rifles on their website: the Predator and the Muddy Girl. Â The guns address two distinctly different markets for the AR-15 rifle market.
The new SIG M400 Predator rifle is designed for long range precision: for either hunting or competition. Â Chambered for the 5.56 NATO, the rifle uses a 18″ barrel made of 416 stainless steel. Â The barrel has a 1:8″ twist rate.
I picked up a Magpul iPhone 5 case in OD green about a month ago after my OtterBox was no longer serviceable. Â The case is made of a textured plastic that snaps over the back and sides of the iPhone. Â It has the distinctive Magpul logo and waffle grip pattern on the case.
There are openings for the camera, flash, speakers, audio jack and lightning cable port. Â All of the 1/8″ headphone plugs I tried (six different pairs) with the Magpul case worked fine. Â A car adaptor in my wife’s car, however, had a body that was too thick to plug into the audio jack. Â I’ve noticed that patch cables tend to have thicker bodies, so I suspect that many will not fit through the Magpul case without some trimming of the case or the cable.
Looking for a new polymer framed revolver?  The new Chiappa Poly Lite Rhino was recently shown to wholesalers at the National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers (NASGW) Expo.  The new gun is a derivation of the existing Rhino line, but with some significant differences.
The PolyLite Rhino will be available only in .38 Special, not in .357 Magnum like the other revolvers in this series of guns. Â Presumably, the polymer is not strong enough to handle the repeated shooting of Magnum pressures. Â It is not yet known if the revolver will be rated for the +P loads, or standard pressure only.
